In three and a half years and 140,000 had 1 flywheel replaced during warranty and I paid for a solid flywheel with clutch after warranty. had 2 timing chains during warranty. Apart from these small albeit inconvenient problems the cab has been a solid workhorse. When I bought it new other drivers couldn't believe that I bought a TX2 when I could have purchased the newly introduced Peugeot E7 as they were all doing in droves across the Wirral. 3 years later many of these drivers have offloaded their problem alternatives while I am still driving my TX2 getting 30 plus the the gallon. If LTI still made the tx2 I would gladly purchase another as opposed to the thirsty TX4. even with the problems I have had I would still be saving money with my low fuel consumption over a three to four year ownership. If lti put a Japanese engine in their tx4 or next model I would most definately buy one as the alternatives just aren't up to scratch. Reading the forums on TX4's problems I am put off buying one and will carry on driving my TX2 untill LTI invest good money on a good engine. I own a 56 plate tx2. I was relieved of the "problem" to my satisfacton,BUT i have a legal "control" on any further comments ! We are all fully aware of on going issues,the share price of Manganese Bronze and its interim report make interesting reading. Suffice to say that I will never purchase another of these "Products" as I am sure the figures show many others will not as well ! Allegedly there are about a dozen similar up and down the UK awaiting a shipment.The cab is grossly overheated even in winter, and in summer( we do get one in Scotland) you roast. I think that the engine is too big for the space available, and the radiator does not match the cooling performance needed.We've had 3 fitted. Dreading warranty expiry. Fluctuating engine temp-LTI says it's normal! Does the cooling fan ever come on? Not that I am aware of. Here in Glasgow we have had a number blown cylinder heads. LTI says there is no connection....£1800 please! Radiator-- mine was fine 'till the rework. short time later started leaking. Caused by removal during rework? Not possible says dealer.
